One of the best experiences i've had with a hotel/motel ever. and i do travel a lot. the rooms are (really!) spectacular. You can feel the love the belgium family has invested in every single detail of the decoration. really an amazing place. The owners are always ready to help you with anything you might need (if it's a tip for a safe restaurant or a guide, or really just any typical or atypical tourist questions you might have). everything we bought or booked through them was of great quality (the guide, the food at the Riad, the Wine-that's also a must! :).it is a quiet place, where you can relax on one of the 2 teraces, having dinner or a glas of wine, and after have a great sleep. Not a place for party animals, but Fes is not such a destination anyway :). + : Location, Wine, Service, the Owners, the rooms, the 2 teraces...just everything! :)
The Arabesque room is situated on the ground floor and all windows face the atrium of the house. to some this might be disturbing, wasn't for us though ...but i had to write something at "-"..:)
a very very beautiful riad! just opened. a little paradice itself. we stayed in 4 riads but this was the best by far. a relax place in the middle of the medina, where you can escape from the heat and crowd. managed by a belgium mother and her her daughter. tip. call and ask before to pick you up at one of the entrance gates of the medina. if you know where the riad is you will find it time after time. but the first time it is almost impossible and you will need to pay someone money.
try to knock on the door, the doorbel does not work.
charming place with a lot of attention to detail and design, the staff was incredibly helpful and hospitable, had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time staying in this beautifully restored Dar. Excellent service was provided by the lovely family that run Dar El Bali. From the outset they were very welcoming, picking us up from the train station, and displayed great hospitality always offering mint tea with lovely macaroons and biscuits, always welcome after coming in from the unseasonable cold and rain we had during our stay. It was a very authentic experience with the room and Dar being beautifully furnished and decorated. Whilst we don't speak English, communication was never really an issue and some fantastic restaurants were recommended. Breakfast was great and the room was always very clean. Felt like part of the family by the end of our stay. Would definitely choose Dar El Bali again if returning to Fes.
